Leaked Images Of Huawei P9 Reveal Dual Primary Camera & Metallic Design

A new set of Huawei P9 images has appeared on the web, the images show some exciting detail of the upcoming P9.

Based on the leaked images, the smartphone is built with metallic body, dual primary camera and fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is tipped to launch at the MWC that would be held in Barcelona.

The smartphone appears to have different color variants which give the device an impressive look.

Spec-wise, it is said that the smartphone will feature a 5.2-inch FHD display, dual 12MP primary camera, dual LED flash paired with laser auto focus. There is also mention of 4GB RAM and a Kirin 955 chip. It would also have 2900mAh battery capacity.

There is no word on pricing and availability at this time. We will let you know once these information become available. So stay tuned.

How to Disable Automatic Download of OTA Updates on Your Android Smartphone

I’m going to give you a simple guide on how to disable automatic OTA updates on your Android devices. Infinix hot 2 has actually given a lot of individual headache, heartache and moneyache but don’t worry, I’ll make this guide simple and easy for none techy dudes.

Requirements
==>Make sure you device is rooted… You can see guide here on how to root your device in less than 5min
==>Download disable services from google play
Once you’ve ensure you have the above in place, then you can go ahead with the steps below

Steps
1. Launch the application you downloaded “disable services”

2. Click on system tab
3. Scroll down to Google play services and click on it. You’ll see lists of google play services

4. Scroll down to SystemUpdateService>>> Tap it and wait..

5. Grant disable service Super User priviledge by tapping grant.
6. SystemUpdateService should now be unticked and in red, meaning it is disabled 

You can then return back to your home screen and never expect any further OTA updates on your Mediatek Android devices. But note that if by any means you want to update to the latest OS, you’ll need to unroot your device, then download the OTA and install.

My Opinion on Huawei G-Power And Gionee M5 Mini

It’s been a while I aired out my opinion but I’m just tempted to do so right now because it’s my business. Two great devices hits the market of recent and with almost the same spec, the same mediaTek processor but something still leaves me in the wonder land.

Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Reportedly Features A Massive 6GB RAM

Ahead of the Galaxy S7 launch on February 27, the next Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is now on the radar, although nothing official but rumors that will make you want the device to launch right now.
A Chinese Weibo user claims Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will feature a huge 6GB RAM. While the source of the information looks really premature nothing seems to be impossible in the smartphone world.
In September 2015, Samsung unveiled its 12GB mobile DRAM chips, a new technology that will pave way for 6GB RAM phones in future. The 12GB LPDDR4 enables 3GB or 6GB mobile DRAM in a single package. For 3GB, it uses two chips while 6GB of RAM will make use of four chips.

Perhaps, the Galaxy Note 6 could be the first device to come with such fire power. There is no chance we will get anything concrete news from Samsung at this time, as the tech giant is focused on having a successful Galaxy S7 launch.
The leaked information also says the next Galaxy Note 6 will feature a 5.8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560X1440. They had an onslaught on the low-end smartphone market and monopolized the mid-range line of smartphones in Nigeria. There was a need for transition into premium smartphones that birthed the Phantom 5.

First Live Shot Of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Appear In New Leak

In the last few days, the internet has literally exploded with several leaks of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7. Now, we have discovered the first live shot of the Galaxy S7 Edge. Thanks to the guys at Vietnam who leaked the exclusive image.

The live shot shows the characteristic curved screen apparently running Antutu benchmark test. The image also does confirm the S7 Edge’s model number as SM-5935.
It is said that the S7 Edge would be waterproof and dustproof, featuring a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED screen, it would be available in two variants; one having the  Exynos 8890 chip, and a second variant powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC.

Samsung recently had one its patents granted, the patent reveals a technology that will bring a new kind of biometric user authentication system to wearables in future.

This way, the company plans to identify users with their veins. How will this work?

Based on the patent, a light sensor and camera sensor would be able to detect a user’s vein structure and pulse. Biologically, vein structure and pulse are unique, leaving room to accurately identify a user putting on the wearable.

Android Viruses: How Your Device can Be Infected & Protected Against Them

Android Viruses isn’t a topic which many people discuss in my locality but there has really been complaints which some people I had met were not even able to describe. Picking up their devices I discovered they had been attacked by one form of virus or the other, that’s why I had to bring us this walk-through



Around October 2013, Viruses were released which affected some users of the Operating System.  Well, these mostly included  malwares, Trojans and few others which I’ll be explaining later in this post.

A Brief Description of Android Viruses

Just like every other virus that can attack your computer systems, Android viruses are malicious apps, programs, files or even codes that can mess up your device and perhaps in most cases do things in your device without your consent, like stealing your data and/or destroying it.
They surely can do more harm to more devices despite the huge amount of effort Google puts into building Android OS. Many of us believe our Android devices are invulnerable but the OS is Open source (Android Open Source Project -AOSP), this alone completely changes that fact.

Android Virus Types

They are mainly Malwares and Trojans right now, they’re made up of files & codes, yes you heard me right “CODES”! Viruses are now written in strong encrypted codes and injected to run in your device, we take a sneak peak at Trojans & Malwares.

Malwares

Malwares can completely hijack installed apps with your data or even the entire device. This virus that use the WebView component on Android versions older than 4.4 (KitKat) are silent and transparent, it won’t notify you before taking actions. 
Malwares make use of certificates to gain access to your device, Android certs which give administrative rights are basically of 3 types
1. Hard-coded Adobe certificate

2. The 3LM certificate with the certificate chain, malwares can use the device management extensions to silently install new apps, change system settings and take control of the device.
3.  The third is hard-coded certificate is used by Google Wallet

Attackers abuse and can use any of the above certs to bypass whatever stops malwares from attacking your device.

Android Trojans

Okay, this one is pretty smart amongst the rest. If a trojan infects your device, it can relax there without you even noticing, it’s the most sophisticated virus you can think of.
Here’s a paragraph from Wikipedia of what Trojan can do.
“In August 2010, Kaspersky Lab reported a trojan designated Trojan-SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer.a. 
This was the first malicious program classified as a Trojan SMS that affects smartphones running on Google’s Android operating system, and which had already infected a number of mobile devices, sending SMS messages to premium rate numbers without the owner’s knowledge or consent, and accumulating huge bills”

Another dreadful feature of a Trojan is that it can’t be deleted once it’s installed. This is because Trojan enjoys extended privileges, but is not listed as an application with Device Administrator privileges.
Trojans can go as Far as collecting sensitive data from your device and these may include: your MAC address, telephone number, account balance, local time and of course it will tell the cybercriminals whether it had successfully gained Administrator privileges of your device.
Now there were still apps submitted to Google and Kaspersky team for Analysis, they returned feedbacks after scanning– trojans make use of a program called “Backdoor.AndroidOS.Obad.a.”
I believe more crafty ways are still been built to encrypt Trojans with codes that cannot be understandable by anti-malware experts. The fight against this virus continues.

How Your Android Devices can Be Infected

Your device can be infected through any means of communication with a 3rd-party device, app, files, or bytes it received.
In most cases those free apps you install from 3rd party stores other than the original Google PlayStore can contain malicious codes.
You may even get your device infected through mails/messages attachments, or shared apps from another devices.

Tips on how to protect your device

Fortunately, in most cases of reported issues of Android malware & trojan attacks, solutions were quickly created to fight it. Here’s what you can do in case your smartphone or tablet is already infected:

1. Install an ANTI-VIRUS

Installing an antivirus can’t be overemphasized. Although this does not guarantee your device is 100 secure, it goes a long way to prevent an infection. You may pick from any of those below, they’re reliable.
– Kaspersky Internet Security
– AVAST Mobile Security & Antivirus
There are more which you can always find from recommendation by Play Store.
You’re expected to install only one AntiVirus! Installing more than one can actually harm your device sooner or later. Wondering why? Installing two different programs to perform the same jab can cause conflicts with undesirable effects like your device crashing or slowing down.
I’ll suggest you also install Bluebox Security Scanner, it can check whether a device is vulnerable to the fake ID attacks and whether your device allows installation of apps from untrusted sources among other things.

2. Monitor Your Installation Permissions & Accessibility

Before installing apps, you’re always presented with the permissions the app is asking for. This is an easy way to spot malicious programs.  When apps starts asking for permissions like your contacts, device app history, location, identity, SMS access, email access and other sensitive data, be sure it’s an app you trust downloaded preferably from Google Play.This includes
You can also choose to VERIFY APPS before you install them.

3. Encrypt your phone

With this settings activated, you should make yourself a numeric PIN or Password to decrypt your phone each you Power it on. You do this by going to SETTINGS > SECURITY > scroll down and you’ll find the option.
Be sure you use a PIN/Password you can easily remember.

People feel Android virus attacks are few but it mustn’t be ignored, otherwise you may loose not only your device, but also your accounts connected with it. Apps like PayPal, GoogleWallet, BitCoin can get hacked through viruses. I still can’t tell which viruses are more harmful,  but I’m pretty sure the tips in this post will help you stay safe from any of them.

Still in anticipation we have been waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S7 to arrive, the company might not be delaying the launch of this device for fun, as they might want to make sure it has no area of deficiency. Apple's iPad Pro outsold Microsoft's entire Surface lineup over the holidays

Consumers have apparently taken a liking to the iPad Pro following its November release, as new data suggests that Apple moved nearly half a million more of the jumbo tablets alone than Microsoft did of its entire Surface lineup.

"We believe Apple sold just over two million iPad Pros while Microsoft sold around 1.6 million Surface devices, a majority of which were Surface Pro and not the more affordable Surface 3," IDC research director Jean Philippe Bouchard said in a release. "With these results, it's clear that price is not the most important feature considered when acquiring a detachable - performance is."

IDC considers tablets like the iPad Pro and Surface — which are designed to work primarily with first-party keyboard accessories — in a different category than tablets such as the iPad Air.

"This quarter was unique as we had new detachables in the market from all three of the major platform players," IDC analyst Jitesh Ubrani said. "Despite lukewarm reviews, the iPad Pro was the clear winner this season as it was the top selling detachable, surpassing notable entries from Microsoft and other PC vendors."

"It's also important to note that the transition towards detachable tablets has presented positive opportunities for both Apple and Microsoft," Ubrani added. "However, Google's recent foray into this space has been rather lackluster as the Android platform will require a lot more refinement to achieve any measurable success."

Healthy iPad Pro sales helped Apple keep its market share lead over second-place Samsung, despite a continued slowdown in overall tablet demand. Apple finished the fourth quarter with 24.5 percent of the market, compared to 13.7 percent for the South Korean firm.

Amazon came in a surprise third with its bargain basement Fire tablet, which sold for just $50 during the holiday shopping season and accounted for 7.9 percent of the market. Lenovo and Huawei rounded out the top five.
