I’ve been with this device for some couples of days and I can tell you that it is next to excellent. UMi Touch is an all metal body, almost a complete unibody design and comes with a soft curved edges high polished bezel.

You can check the unboxing pictures here and full spec here.

Display
The device comes with 5.5-inch Full-HD display. 1080×1920 resolution screen with PPI of 401. The design of the UMi Touch is very similar to an iPhone with an almost full single metal alloy back plate. Around the metal frame, you’ll find there is a CNC polished 45-degree edge which is a current design trend to help distinguish a phone as premium.

When I first handled it, it feels so premium before I could realize that I’m holding a mid-range smartphone. I love the design of the device.

Software
UMi Touch comes pre-loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The moment I powered it on and it magnet my internet, I received an OTA update from Umi dated to 2016-05-10.

UMi has no pre-installed apps and also the number of Google Apps is kept to a minimum. You’ll even need to manually install Gmail. Boring launcher, I’d to installed my own unique launcher.

A feature that UMi have built into the Touch that I can see being useful is their Turbo Download setting. This allows you to use the WiFi connection and 4G/3G connection simultaneously to improve download speeds.

Performance
During the test period, I didn’t experience crashes or any major hiccups. So I moved a step further by installing Ashalt 8…

Played it but I was not too satisfy with the animation movement, so I turned it OFF and ON again after which everything became normal while playing this game, I noticed that it get hot, the moment I turned it off, the temperature goes back to normal. Excellent multitasking. (Video coming soon).

Benchmarks

The UMi Touch managed to score 38,681 points in AnTuTu, and is nowhere close to the high-end handset, its MT6753 64-bit octa-core SoC might be considered obsolete by some, but it’s worth the performance.

Hardware/ Build
It comes with 16 GB of internal memory  3GB or ram, MediaTek 6753 8-Core 1.3GHz, Mali-T720 GPU and Dual sim with supports for sDcard. The Mali-T720 GPU will struggle with the latest most extreme 3D intensive games but don’t let this put you off as it will handle 99% of games with decent frame-rates.

This phone weigh 190g which  might actually be heavy for some of us and spot a unibody design,

The power / lock and volume rocker buttons (which are located on the right side of the device) are made out of metal.

The loudspeaker is placed on the bottom part of the phone’s back, and on the very bottom of this phone you’ll find the micro USB port for charging and data transfer.

Audio Performance
The call quality of the Umi Touch during the period of review was absolutely okay, no any form of distortion.

Umi Touch Camera
The camera beat my expectation,  the 13MP Sony IMX328 camera performs so well, takes clear pictures even while on motions. I was on motion when I took the one of the picture below.

The front facing camera also performs excellently well with  flash light.

Battery Capacity
The UMi Touch battery last me 3days of average use (browse the net, stream a little, watch movies and play music).

The only drawback is that it doesn’t support fast charge. It takes about 4hours to charge full from 0% - 100%.

Special Features:
Yes, it comes with Finger Print scanner which can be located in the home button which I’m not too comfortable with.

In Conclusion,
These are what I’ve noticed with the UMi Touch smartphone during the test period below;

1. Touch screen is not as sensitive as other smartphones I’ve handled
2. A little bit weightier (190g)
3. No USB type-C
4. No supports for fast charge
5. Home button should have been separate from Finger print ID

Positive Verdict
1. Low Price
2. Long battery life
3. Dual band wifi
4. 1080P 5.5″ Crisp display
5. Premium design.
In all, it is worth the price. To get a copy for yourself at the cheapest price, go to banggood here to get one.
